The men and women who serve in our military make great sacrifices, as do their families. As a result, there are many unique aspects to counseling military personnel and their families. This workshop will discuss some of the distinct challenges facing counselors when advising military families. Common challenges—like PTSD, resilience issues, reintegration issues, and family life adjustments—will be discussed to assist counselors who desire to serve those who serve us.

Learning Objectives
Participants will:
1. Identify the unique aspects of military life and how they impact counseling our service men and women
2. Explore the many challenges that families face when their military members return from deployment
3. Examine the potential future trends and challenges of military counseling
